DESCRIPTION
UDcast's best-of-breed core technology provides an enhanced end-user experience and great bandwidth savings with TCP acceleration, QoS-based traffic differentiation, HTTP pre-fetching, web and DNS caching, CIFS acceleration and the UDcast WANcompress technology.
WANcompress is a data redundancy elimination algorithm that provides average bandwidth savings of 50% and enables acceleration rates of more than 20x compared to the same non-optimized link. WANcompress is looking at data redundancies for days and potentially weeks in the past, at the data link level and is thus independent of the application and effective for all existing and future network-based applications..
An accelerated VPN tunnel can be established over a satellite or WiMAX infrastructure or over a mix of satellite and WiMAX with terrestrial backhaul. Site-to-site communication is kept private throughout using secure IP traffic encryption. UDcast's unique technology enhances upload and download performances by compressing IP traffic and accelerating TCP-based applications end-to-end.
The UDgateway appliance functions with any two-way satellite system (VSAT, SCPC), WiMAX network (802.16d/e) or any other network where bandwidth is expensive or limited. It is installed between the remote office indoor unit (or wireless modem) and the local area network, and handles all network traffic coming from the data center. At the central site, the UDgateway ensures connectivity between the headquarters LAN and internet access by managing all the VPN tunnels required for each remote office.
